This quality of the “single mind,” that it contains, reflects, and affects “the whole world”: it is in this sense that every death is the obliteration of an infinity, the end of a reality. In this light, calculations about life and death are absurd. What can justify the destruction of the stars, water, air, field, forest, and everything else one has within oneself?
That is not to say there are no other ways of thinking.
